    It's been suggested that just because GTA IV concentrates on a single city as opposed to an entire state it's not going to be a very big game world. We're not so sure. And we've used Google Maps to prove it.

    First we used Google Maps editing kit and dropped in all the known locations that have been seen in the trailer. Then we added the Liberty City/NYC boroughs revealed by the Game Informer preview. Finally we drew a boundary around certain geographical locations that we can imagine serving as useful boundary points in the game - sea, major roads and the JFK airport for example.

    The results are pretty surprising. The area the map could potentially cover is huge.

    We haven't even taken into account that the trailer shows a ferry terminal that might be a link to Staten Island. That would be another huge chunk of land to incorporate. Those disgruntled residents might still see Richmond County in GTA IV yet.

    To see the map click here. Feel free to zoom in and out to check out the real-life locations. We'll be updating the map/redrawing boundaries with each round of coverage as new locations and buildings are revealed so be sure to check back to the map now and again.


    Finde ich mal ne sehr schöne Idee, die zeigt, wie groß das Spiel doch werden könnte.Denkt ihr, dass dies "möglich" ist?

    Nur weil sich GTA4 mehr an der Realität orientieren wird, heißt das nicht gleich, dass jeder m² von New York Originalgetreu ins Spiel gebracht wird. Kann gut sein, dass alles bei weitem näher zusammen liegt.

    Natürlich ist das möglich !
    aber ich denke , dass sie das schon krass komprimieren werden

    wennd as wirklich soo groß ist, dann wäre das schon ein bisschen übertrieben finde ich...

    mich hat es bei San Andreas schon aufgeregt wenn man von einer ecke zur anderen fahren musste...

    hoffe wirklich das es arg kompriemiert ist

    Ich fänds wirklich geil,einfach mal durch New York zu fahren,und dabie z.b. die Freiheitstatue oder so zu begucken bei GTA,hoffentlich isses besser als San Andreas,das fand ich mal total ,daher wirds nicht schwer,nen besseres Game zu machen=)=)=)

    Natürlich ist das "möglich" nur ich finde -wie es auch shcon bei San Andreas war- die maps immer unübersichtlicher werde sofern es bei SA ja noch ging aber ganz new york und nur straßen,U-Bahnen,Autos,keine Strecke zum richtig heitzen wäre ein bissle öde.

    Die sollen lieber mehr gelände machen oder nicht so gequetscht so wie Vice City das war geil und groß genug!

    Hört sich finde ich voll geil wenn das dann so groß ist, jedoch die Rechenleistung vom PC und dann wie viel PLatz man auf der Festplatte braucht, ich könnte mir gut vorstellen dasdas Game auf 2 Dvds oder halt eben auf einer Double Layer raus kommt. Ich freue mich jetzt schon drauf, aber leider kann ich des auf meinem Rechner net zoggn :X

    Das Spiel kommt erst in nem Jahr wenn überhaupt auf den PC.

    Kommt vorerst nur auf x360 und ps3.
