#1 21. August 2007 Wie der Threadname schon sagt, suche ich eine englische Interpretation zu dem buch Shadows von Tim Bowler. Wir sollen das Buch lesen und es später zusammenfassen auf englisch. Dazu würde ich gerne ne vorlage haben ausm inet um mich bisschen orientieren zu können. Natülich könnte ich nicht die ganze Interpretation nehmen ... Aber mache ich sowieso nicht. August 2007 AW: Suche eine englische Interpretation zu dem buch Shadows von Tim Bowler In the novel "Shadows" the author Tim Bowler uses the context of playing squash to explore family relationships: Jamie, a good squash player, loses pleasure in playing it. He knows what to expect if he doesn’t win: his father, who is obsessed with the idea that Jamie will become a world squash champion, will punish him very hard. Jamie doesn't share his father's single minded ambition – the reason why he is desperate to escape from the verbal and physical abuse that will follow when he fails. Then he finds a girl in his hiding shed – this is the beginning of a strong friendship. In helping her to escape from her past and the danger that is pursuing her, he is able to put his own problems into perspective. He realises that he can't run away for ever.
