Mai 2008 XVISTAMAN2005 has discovered a method HERE which allows Retail PS3 console owners to install PS3 Debug Firmware on them... however, before considering attempting this PS3 "HDD Swap" be sure to read below. Upon following the instructions your retail PS3 console will update to a partial Debug/Test console. Partial is stated because upon doing it the PS3 will possess what is pictured below, specifically non-functioning Debug options. Debug PKG files won't install, port 1000 is open but you can't connect to it, and the PS3 no longer plays Blu-ray movies. Additionally, the Sony SELF Check disc does not show under game while inserted, however it shows under the other menus as only a "Data Disc" like all burned discs do on retail (not Debug/Test) PS3 consoles. The good news is it's possible to update to a higher retail Firmware which restores the Blu-ray movie playback functionality, however, the bad news is some options seem to be missing in action initially.. for example, the resident PS3 Dev who tried this no longer has the Search for Media Servers options under Music and Video that should be there. Upon further experimentation though, it was found that if you put the original HDD back in the PS3 and reformat it, your streaming options will come back again- nice indeed! Finally, another resident PS3 Dev (who has an Infectus installed) plans to try a retail PS3 Firmware downgrade using this "HDD Swap" method, however, he doesn't advise anyone without an Infectus trying it as there is always the chance it will allow it (as it does the Debug Firmware) but brick the PS3 console in doing so. More to come as it's available, hopefully later today! Tools needed: 1 ps3 system 2 ps3 hdd same size 1 retail firmware upgrade 1.80 Or 2.15 debug firmware First format both hdd’s to the ps3 system. Put debug firmware on a USB stick and start the update the update will first copy the files to the hdd this is good. Next you system will restart and should take you to screen that reads reads push ps button to begin update (this is past the screen that reads update will start in 30 sec and counts down just push x to continue on) at this point power off the system using the switch in the back. Do not begin the update as it will error out. Next remove the hdd you just copied the debug firmware to and put in the second hdd. Copy the retail update to a USB stick and start the update when you get to the accept licenses screen don’t push any thing remove the hdd with the system powered on and put in the hdd with the debug firmware on it. Next accept the license agreement and the system will install the update when your finished you will have the debug firmware on your system go to system settings and check version number and you will see the debugging options. Note for this to work your system must be below or at 1.80 for the 1.80 debug update... and below or on 2.01 for the 2.15 debug update. Just use the next version up from your current firmware version for the retail update. Hab den Text jetzt nihct gelesen aber ich denke mal das so eine PS3 versehntlich oder geschmugelt auf den markt gebracht wurde. Mai 2008 AW: Debug Firmware auf einer Retail PS3 hehe das heisst soviel das es eine debug firmware gibt die es erlaubt homebrew zu starten und programme dafür zu schreiben halt. der nachteil ist allerdings das blu-ray FILME net mehr laufen aber dafür die games. d.h soviel wie: es ist in kürze möglich das ein iso-loader erscheinen wird *edit* zu simeta dies iss aber auf einer retail ps3 möglich. das heisst auf die die wir auch haben + Multi-Zitat Zitieren

Mai 2008 AW: Debug Firmware auf einer Retail PS3 @simeta: eine Debug PS3 ist keine "gecrackte" PS3 sondern eine Konsole für entwickler wo einafch mehr möglichkeiten bietet. die Debug FW funktioniert eh (noch) nicht richtig, man sieht zwar die typischen Debug optionen die haben jedoch keine funktion. @Chakuza: du kannst eine PS3 nicht bei nem falschen FW bricken, denn wenn was schief läuft während des normalen FW update, startet nach dem neustart der konsole automatisch ein FW vom backupspeicher. und nein man kann keine SK's bis jetzt spielen und es kann auch noch kein unsignierter code ausgeführt werden. bis das soweit ist, kommt nicht mit solchen fragen wie " wie lange dauerts denn noch" weil das bringt niemand was. abwarten und tee trinken. + Multi-Zitat Zitieren

Aber zurzeit ist sowas für den normalen nutzer uninteressant Unsignierte codes ausführen ist zwar toll, aber was bringt es, wenn man nicht weiß wie man ihn ausführt^^ Positives daran ist ja eigentlich nur, dass es endlich mal handfeste sachen gibt in sachen ps3 cracking.. nach über 1 1/2 jahren =) + Multi-Zitat Zitieren

Mai 2008 AW: Debug Firmware auf einer Retail PS3 seh ich genauso... 70 euro für nen spiel ist zwar ne menge aber bei den spielen die ich mir kaufe, da loht sich auch der preis... oder man kaufts bei ebay etc.... allerdings glaube ich atm noch nicht wirklich, dass es möglich ist die ps3 in irgendeiner form zu downgraden... + Multi-Zitat Zitieren
